Phil Ellbourn's International 1800 Loadstar

Build completed in 2015

Phil Ellbourn's truck restoration project was the last Loadstar sold from Werner's International Dealership in Gawler SA, sold to Smith Brothers of Williamstown SA in 1970. It originally towed a semi-tipper to cart sand. In the early years it was driven by the late Adrian Parkes & Phil Ellbourn. Several years later Smith Brothers sold the Loadstar and it was purchased by Henry Wendt of Greenock SA where it towed a dozer around the Barossa Valley for many years. The vehicle sat in Henry's yard for a few years before it was purchased with Tony Kuchel's help on behalf of Phil in 2011, after which the restoration began. Prior to the start of the refurbishment by the Kuchel team, Phil would come to the depot whenever he had some free time and dismantled parts in readiness for the restoration. This Loadstar F1800D features a 6V-53 Detroit engine.

Contractors involved bought years of talent and skill into the custom build,

Steve Baum of Stateside Trim - Completed a very impressive and detailed interior trim and turn table cover

Brian Earle - Sign writer - Hand painted all signwriting and striping on the Loadstar
